welcome to
Malawi has a youthful population, constituting a great asset for the country. Young people have great potential to contribute to Malawi’s socioeconomic development. However, many challenges are experienced by the youth, especially marginalised adolescent girls and young women. These challenges include child marriage, unintended pregnancy, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and a lack of employment opportunities.
In Malawi, the Power to You(th) programme is implemented in 2 districts; Dedza and Machinga. A consortium of 6 partners, namely Centre for Human Rights Rehabilitation (CHRR) Youth Wave, Centre for Youth Empowerment and Civic Education (CYECE), Malawi Human Rights Resource Centre (MHRRC), Malawi Sexual Reproductive Health Alliance (SRH Alliance), and Amref Health Africa in Malawi.
