CSW68 Side-event: Youth-friendly Feminist Funding

10th Floor, Church Centre For The United Nations (CCUN) New York, NY, United States

Amid an array of health, social and economic crises aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic, conflict, climate change and poverty, it is crucial to recognize that youth are central to the development agenda. Accessible funding enables them to become agents of change on issues affecting their bodies and lives. Unfortunately, existing funding mechanisms often overlook their needs resulting in absent support or tokenism. Through compelling stories from the Power to Youth Program in Africa and Asia, our event will present barriers faced by youth-led organizations in accessing funding, and promising approaches that will inform recommendations to create effective feminist funding mechanisms. This session is co-hosted by Amref Health Africa and CHOICE as part of the Power to You(th) consortium. Join us for a discussion on fostering accessible and inclusive funding mechanisms for youth-led organizations. Hear compelling stories and recommendations for effective feminist funding approaches.
