The PtY Ghana consortium calls on global and national partners to maintain the mission of engaging young people in Planning Monitoring, Evaluation, Research & Learning (PMERL), from design and tool creation to data gathering and analysis. The PtY Ghana consortium act to integrate and mainstream young people, particularly young women, into the country PMERL Technical Working Group (TWG) structure of the programme, dubbed “Youth PMERL TWG.” The goal of this integration is to guarantee that young people are
actively involved in the program cycle in terms of strategy and operational planning, tracking, evaluation, and reporting.
Using this unique approach, the PtY Ghana consortium “walks the talk” in meaningfully engaging AGYW in its programming and implementation.
Membership
The Youth PMERL TWG has a membership of three (3) young women selected by consortium partners. The members were selected from MOYs of the implementing partners taking into consideration their Age, Geographic location and Language Requirements, Community
Membership, Problem Solving and Basic Information Technology (IT) Skills, Public Speaking and Confidence, Passion, and Dedication to learn.
Responsibilities
The Youth PMERL TWG works with the local PMERL TWG to design monitoring and evaluation plans, research, data collection and analysis tools, reports and dissemination plans. They also conduct periodic review of monitoring and evaluation plans, research processes and findings and activity reports to ensure it reflects aspirations of the adolescents and young people. This they do with technical support from the local PMERL TWG Also, they Plan and lead field monitoring visits to implementing areas of Youth Initiative Small
Grant (YISG) grantees and among other duties assigned to them by the local PMERL TWG.
